Headline: Nobel Winning Economist Predicts Romney Recession
Of course you don't need to be a Nobel winning economist to know that Romney supports the exact same public policy that caused the meltdown at the end of the last Republican administration, and that if you bring it back into effect it will have the same results. It's Einstein's definition of insanity to expect otherwise.
This blog exists to provide Democrats with clear, hard, concise branding of the political opposition. We invite you to use our messaging in your advertising, at the water cooler, in the press release, at the lectern, or just to shut up the father-in-law at Thanksgiving (especially to shut up the father-in-law at Thanksgiving). War On Democracy
Headline: Voter ID advocate fails to name single instance of voter fraud.
That's because it doesn't exist in any kind of relevant way. If you follow this link you'll find the best shot the GOP has taken to date to prove it does. It will show you about 300 instances of individual voter fraud cases over a 10 year period. Just in national and statewide elections alone over the last 10 years there have been 1.2 billion votes. 300 divided by 1.2 billion is 0.000000025. There hasn't been an election in the history of the universe that has been anywhere near that close. Therefore it cannot be possible that individual voter fraud could impact our elections.
By contrast, before the 2000 election, Katherine Harris disenfranchised 7000 Florida voters because they had the same name as felons. By the time the conservative majority on the USSC shut down the vote counting and appointed Bush president the margin of "victory" was 535 votes.
So it's quite clear: by their constant efforts to rob all manner of poor, elderly, young, and minority Americans of their right to vote, Republicans are stealing elections. Forget about government, more than a few of them should be in prison for these crimes against democracy.

Saving Myself Millions
Raw Story: Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney would save almost $5 million next year alone if he is elected president and able to enact his tax policies, according to a new report.
Since their policies always turn out to be a a disaster for the country we often wonder why do Republicans run for office. This is among the most likely explanations.

Charts And Facts And Stuff
Despite decades of Republican lies, the truth is the federal government grows far more under GOP rule than under Democratic rule. And at the same time they cut taxes for the super-rich and the corporation thereby degrading the tax base and exploding the debt. This is the historical result and more than noteworthy given that shrinking government is the bedrock of their pitch. It's also a testament to the conservative bias of the corporate media that in this regard most Americans believe exactly the opposite of what's true.

No Future
Think Progress: On Thursday, Mitt Romney campaigned at the headquarters of Solyndra — the first renewable energy company to receive a federal loan under the stimulus — and reiterated his debunked claims that its bankruptcy symbolized the corruption and cronyism of the Obama administration. But just one day later, a solar panel developer “that landed a state loan from Mitt Romney when he was Massachusetts governor” went belly up, the Boston Herald reports, creating an inconvenient storyline for the GOP presidential nominee. The company, Konarka Technologies, “filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection and will cease operations, lay off its 85 workers and liquidate”
Putting aside what a dishonest hypocrite this makes Willard Romney, criticizing what Obama - and what he himself did - bodes ill for America should he become president. Government money to basic R& D and for industries what will lead us to an economic competitive advantage over the rest of the world is vital to the future of the country. Very little significant basic R&D gets done without government support. It's too expensive, too risky, to hit and miss to be consistently profitable. Al Gore fought for government money to create the internet and he and other good Americans invested public money into what eventually paid off in the tech boom. Biotech and clean energy will be the next booms. We need public money to those sectors. That's good public policy But as they do with public education, infrastructure spending, the safety net and other investments in the future of the country, Republicans don't give a rip. This story is yet another reminder of that fact.

Prison
Think Progress: Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL) unwilling admitted to MSNBC’s Chris Matthews on Friday afternoon that he believed women who receive abortions should face criminal charges. “I think the punishment should certainly be very serious,” he said. “It should be more than a civil case. It should be something very serious”
Attention women of America: if you give Republicans power they will put you, or your mother, or your daughter, or your sister IN PRISON if you have an abortion, even in the case of rape, incest, or danger to the mother. Vote Republican at your peril.

R-Nazi
Think Progress: Republicans in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania have elected Steve Smith, a lifelong white supremacist with close ties to neo-Nazi groups and groups like Aryan Nations, to the county’s GOP Committee.
Makes sense. This a political party that makes common cause with Nazis, has candidates that like to dress up and behave like Nazis, pose for pictures with Nazis deny the Holocaust, and accept endorsements from Nazis, has Nazis working for them overseas, former officials that were Nazis, current officials that are Nazis, senators who are supported financially by Nazis, commentators that praise Nazis, supporters that are fascists, and administrations that employ "Jew Hunters." And oh yeah, whose preeminent political family got rich underwriting the Nazi war machine.
