On Friday Andrea Mitchell went on the air to ask if the gulf coast oil spill was Obama's Katrina.
Why, because he should have known the GOP and their big oil cronies would sell out the whole region to make an extra buck? Everybody already knew that. There's just nothing we can do about it, except perhaps work harder to make sure there are less Republicans.
This blog exists to provide Democrats with clear, hard, concise branding of the political opposition. Backlash
Arizona lawmakers, in an amendment to the controversial new immigration law, stipulated Friday that police officers would not be able to detain an individual based merely on the suspicion that he or she entered the country illegally. The proposed change to the law states that a "lawful stop, detention or arrest must be in the enforcement of any other law or ordinance of a county, city or town of this state."
It's not clear if this change was prompted by the worldwide accusations of racism and comparisons to totalitarian regimes or if the moneyed GOP backers who are responsible for the problem in the first place realized their cheap labor might seek work in California instead.

Of Course He Did
NPR News has learned that the Mine Safety and Health Administration is the target of a federal criminal investigation surrounding the explosion of the Upper Big Branch mine in West Virginia three weeks ago -- a disaster that killed 29 miners. The probe also targets Massey Energy, the owner of the mine and is looking at whether they bribed federal officials.
The famous Liberal hating Massey Energy CEO Don Blankenship not only bribed federal officials but also bought himself his own federal judge (who promptly ruled in favor of Massey Energy in a case before the court) and then created work conditions that led to the deaths of a lot of people. It's ridiculous what this guy has been getting away with.

Bigger Than Believed
The massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is even worse than believed and as the government grows concerned that the rig's operator is ill-equipped to contain it, officials are offering a military response to try to avert a massive environmental disaster along the ecologically fragile U.S. coastline.
It's now grown to cover every Republican in the country.

The Soutern Strategy
National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Ken Spain said in an email to reporters yesterday: "DNC Chairman Tim Kaine gave voters a sneak peak at their 2010 strategy: Play the race card from the bottom of the deck."
They would know. The modern Republican party was built on a foundation of racism. The self described "Southern Strategy" was the blueprint and it's part of the political history of the United States. If you have any doubt, google it.

Unanimous
The Senate, in a 57-41 vote Monday, failed to get the 60 supporters needed to proceed on financial reform.
Every single Republican voted to allow the crooks on Wall Street to keep robbing the taxpayer.

The militant wing of...
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Wednesday that the Tea Party will become the "militant wing of the Republican Party."
The militant wing of... The militant wing of... where have I heard that before...?
"I believe that Barack Obama is God's punishment on us today," Rep. Leo Berman of Texas' 6th district told the audience at a Glenn Beck appearance in Tyler, Texas.
Ah yes, Hamas. Sounds like the militant wing of Hamas.

Motive
Republican voters are adamantly against amnesty for illegal immigrants...
...and they are told the best way to curtail illegal immigration is to elect Republicans. But it is in fact the Republican party, in order to provide cheap labor to their moneyed constituents, that intentionally created the situation. From the first amnesty signed into law by Reagan in 1986 to the guest worker program proposed by George W Bush in 2006, Republicans have a long history of inciting workers to come north and then demonizing them for political gain once they arrive.

SPILL BABY SPILL!
The oil rig that exploded last Tuesday and sunk into the Gulf of Mexico, has now left a 20 square mile oil slick that authorities said was sure to grow. It's currently leaking underwater in two places and approaching the Louisiana coastline.
We can do slogans too.

Mitch McConnell-R(OI)
Republicans spent Tuesday pointing out that Harry Reid held a fundraiser on Wall Street.
So what? All politicians raise money, Republicans more than most. And Wall Street especially, tries to buy all national politicians. But Reid and the Democrats are pushing a financial oversight bill that both Wall Street and the Republicans are colluding to stop. It's clear which party is providing Wall Street with a return on its investment.

Limbaugh takes sides
In blaming President Clinton for all things Oklahoma City to 9/11 Rush Limbaugh said this on his radio show last Friday: "All I've ever heard is that Timothy McVeigh was outraged over the government invasion led by Janet Reno of the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas. And the Murrah building was blown up on that exact date two years later"
Limbaugh's justification for McVeigh's barbarism is dangerous and indicative of the kind of rhetoric that influenced McVeigh in the first place. The right wing's constant canonizing of the serial child rapist David Korsesh is bizarre. And the reality is we've only ever had two major terrorist attacks on US soil; one of them was on the Republicans watch, and the other one was actually carried out by a Republican.

The L word
This morning Time's Mark Halperin told MSNBC's Joe Scarborough that on financial reform Republicans "... are willfully misreading the bill or they are engaged in a cynical attempt to keep the president from achieving something."
Actually, unless they don't know how to read, they're willfully misrepresenting the bill. That's called lying.

Shooters
Former Bush administration White House Press Secretary Dana Perino said yesterday that rising deficits are “this year alone higher than the last four years of the Bush administration combined."
This is rather like shooting somebody and then criticizing them for running up hospital bills. The point here is not that we had to spend to turn around the economic collapse the Republicans caused, but instead, unless we want another meltdown, to never let them be in charge again.
