Earlier this week, State Rep. Phil Jensen (R-SD) introduced the bill, which would have added language to current South Dakota law specifying that, in some circumstances, killing someone in defense of an unborn child is "justifiable homicide." Currently, the law allows for murder as self-defense, or in defense of someone whose life appears to be in danger.
This seems to be some kind of Bush Doctrine on behalf of a fetus. But if this principal can be applied to a fetus, it could certainly also be used to justify murder to protect the life of a doctor that performs abortions. In other words, if somebody was putting doctors that perform abortions under threat by let's say proposing a law that could get them killed, by this principal it would be "justifiable homicide" to murder them.
This blog exists to provide Democrats with clear, hard, concise branding of the political opposition. We invite you to use our messaging in your advertising, at the water cooler, in the press release, at the lectern, or just to shut up the father-in-law at Thanksgiving (especially to shut up the father-in-law at Thanksgiving).
