Believing in Jesus

Bill O'Reilly criticized the media on Monday for describing Anders Behring-Breivik, the man who has admitted to committing the mass killings in Norway, as a Christian, saying that such a thing was "impossible."

"No one believing in Jesus commits mass murder," he said. "The man might have called himself a Christian on the net, but he is certainly not of that faith...we can find no evidence, none, that this killer practiced Christianity in any way."

Putting aside the crusades, the inquisition and any number of abortion clinic bombers/shooters, it could also be said that no one believing in Jesus goes on national TV every day to lie and shill for multi-national corporations whos only motive is profit.

  1. Wouldn't the logic that no beleiver in Jesus coudl committ mass murder also apply to anyone in the military ordering or following orders to drop bombs on civilians, or even other soldiers fro that matter/

  2. One would think. But pretty much from the start people have been marching off to war with a weapon in one hand and the bible in the other. Some Christians will point to various quotes in the bible that justify war but under scrutiny they don't really hold up. Certainly not in the furtherance of Christianity. But that hasn't stopped people from using it as a justification for killing.
