Jesus Christ Was a Republican

Ed Martin, a Republican candidate for Congress in Missouri, said in a radio interview with a conservative talk show host that President Obama and Rep. Russ Carnahan are trying to interfere with America's freedom to worship. Martin also has taken a swipe at Carnahan's sister Robin Carnahan, suggesting she is doing the "devil's work" as Secretary of State.

This is beyond ridiculous... until you consider who it's coming from. Large swaths of the GOP can't stand democracy and would rather run run a theocracy. 1 in 4 Republicans believe Obama may be the anti-Christ. Many more believe our founding fathers intended a Christian nation. Some, including the people Rand Paul speaks to even want the constitution replaced with the bible.

  1. There is a reason the Repug’s have catered to the religious right, because they are a gullible breed who will believe the most fantastic of fairy tails. All a GOP candidate has to say is “Phrase the lord”, and these people will be falling over themselves to follow him/her. They refuse to look at facts or bother to do any research because if they did they would discover that candidate believes in the god of GREED, and self gratification.

    But here is what really pisses me off;
    Quote:
    (Last month, a proposal by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) that would have cut $35 billion in taxpayer subsidies to Big Oil companies was soundly defeated in the Senate by a 35-61 vote, with every Republican and 21 Democrats voting against it. "Twenty-two percent of the children in this country live in poverty, we have record-breaking deficits, we have a $13 trillion national debt, and Exxon-Mobil receives $156 million in a tax refund after making $19 billion in profit," Sanders said at the time. Indeed, due to a series of tax expenditures (spending programs that are administered through the tax code) and other favorable tax treatment, billions of taxpayer dollars are transferred to an oil industry that has made record profits in recent years and whose product pollutes the environment and can cause catastrophes like the ongoing spill in the Gulf of Mexico. These subsidies are nothing more than corporate giveaways, and cutting them would have a negligible effect on domestic oil production or the wider economy. "Profitable and powerful oil companies, such as BP and ExxonMobil, pay lobbyists millions of dollars to scare lawmakers into believing that ending subsidies to oil companies will wreak havoc on the American economy," )

    21 democrats voted to continue BILLIONS in subsidies to big oil !! Even though they (big oil) continue to generate hundreds in billions in profits every quarter. Put that 35 billion to work on improving our country’s infrastructure and generating some jobs, this would be the right thing to do and we all know this.

    Again…both repug’s and demo’s belong to one party and only pretend to disagree. In reality they work for the same party, the corporate party of “I, Me, Mine.”

    As I said before and have been saying for over ten years…”Vote out the incumbent”. One doesn’t have to vote against their party either, simply vote them out in the primary’s and don’t even give the incumbent a chance for the job. Even if we do vote them out the old incumbents will become lobbyist and try to influence the new members so the next election the same thing has to happen again…and again, until we start to get the type of people who will look out for the best interests of the public.
    The way it stands now our elected officials consider themselves gods, they have the best health care our money can buy and vote against anything of value for us, they receive lifelong pensions at our expense while the big bankers loot ours, they vote themselves raises every other year why ours have stayed stagnant and even diminished.

    We all want the same things, decent jobs, a safe infrastructure, good schools, and the promise of a fair chance or our children…and both party’s have been a part of destroying this over the past thirty years.
