Media Matters: Following President Obama's recent visit to Smith Electric Vehicles (SEV U.S.), right-wing media have criticized the start-up electric truck company, which received stimulus grants in 2009 and 2010. For instance, Fox called the company a "Total Joke" and claimed that SEV U.S. "has not been able to hire any new people in the last year," when in fact, SEV U.S. has hired 50 workers since starting production in October 2009.Republicans would rather turn our oceans to oil, bake the globe, and fund terrorists with oil dollars than allow us out from under the boot of oil addiction.
