Defending Arizona

Karen Hanratty, GOP strategist on the Ed Shultz show last night: "I think the the Los Angeles City Council is the last governmental body I would ever take advice from. By the way, go to any hospital in Los Angele and see what their emergency room looks like, how may illegal immigrants are in those waiting rooms. Something needs to be done in this country and Los Angeles is probably not the best indication of how we should fix our budget, manage our municipalities. You know LA is a land unto itself."

She prefers her communities white up to the point of their hoods no doubt. But the bit about the economics is strange. The GDP of just the garment district in Los Angeles is bigger than some red states.

  1. And with stinky, oily beach communities they've voted themselves on the gulf coast those red states are in for an even rougher ride. That's got to hurt tourism.
