Bought And Paid For By Mother Nature

GOP Rep. Todd Tiahrt is a front runner in this years Kansas senate race. This week a Greenpeace spokesperson called Tiahrt “another example of someone who is obviously owned, bought and paid by the oil industry.” Tiahrt's response? “That’s rather odd coming from somebody who…is bought and paid by the environmental groups.”

Of course the Greenpeace spokesperson is paid by an environmental group. So by his response Tiahrt seems to confirm he's paid by big oil. The difference is Greenpeace paying their spokesperson is legal. Tiahrt taking bribe money from big oil is not. Further, that the GOP sees the environment as something to battle against is beyond dangerous. It's just this kind of philosophy that caused the gulf disaster in the first place. So it stands to reason that the more power Republicans gain the more environmental catastrophes we will suffer.
