This morning White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel told ABC's Jake Tapper that Rep. Joe Barton's (R-TX) apology to BP was not a "gaffe" but a political "philosophy." He pointed to similar statements of support for BP from Rand Paul and the GOP leadership. "I think what Joe Barton did is remind the American people, in case they forgot, this is how Republicans would govern," he said..We wont presume he got that from this blog. This isn't rocket science. But then again, what took him so long and when will the rest of the Democrats clue in and put forth an effective message?
