Their Messaging

TPM: Earlier this month, North Carolina Tea Party Republican candidate Bill Randall suggested that the Gulf Oil leak might have been an inside job between the US government and BP, conspiring for some reason to fill the Gulf with oil. (After all, it's turned out so well for both parties. Why not?) Tonight he won his primary in North Carolina's 13th District.

Not what we would have thought a winning message... But then again, we assume our target audience is sane. This however is the GOP base. And not only do they have a tenuous grip on reality, but in the GOP it's the base that leads the party. Voters who are not crazy would do well to remember that in November.

  1. Ain't that the truth. 74% of the GOP believes in ghosts (I just made that up, but I wouldn't be surprised). Great graphic.
