Still Working For Big Oil

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal wrote President Obama a letter on Wednesday criticizing his decision to implement a temporary moratorium of deepwater drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. "I fully understand the need for strict oversight of deepwater drilling," Jindal wrote. "However, I would ask that the federal government move quickly to ensure that all deepwater drilling is in proper compliance with federal regulation and is conducted safely so that energy production and more importantly, thousands of jobs, are not in limbo." Joining Jindal in his call to lift the moratorium is Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) who accused the Obama administration of pursuing a policy that "could kill thousands of Louisiana jobs."

First of all, Elliot Spitzer wants to know why Vitter is still in government. Spitzer didn't even mess himself in diapers when he frequented his prostitutes and he had to resign.

So anyway, these guys slam Obama for not being tough enough on BP and then turn right around and accuse him of being responsible of killing oil related jobs by not immediately returning to business as usual. It's going to take years to rebuild the regulatory capability 3 decades of Republican efforts have destroyed. They should use that time to contemplate their sins and apologize for the mess they've caused instead of getting up every day and slamming Obama for what they asked him to do the day before.
