Yesterday, Chevron discovered a leaking pipeline that was spewing 50 gallons of crude oil per minute into Red Butte Creek in Salt Lake City, UT. From the link: Gov. Gary Herbert (R) put out a statement calling the spill a “devastating situation.” This disaster comes just four days after the governor put out his energy plan, which called for more oil production in Utah.
ReplyDeleteThe typical Republican/Conservative/Tea Potty response will be that an Environmental Nazi somehow managed to sabotage the well, thus creating the spill! Unfortunately, the people of Utah will believe it!
